Jessica Hans graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Art at Maryland Institute College of Art in 2012, focusing on textile design and ceramics. She now runs her artist studio in New Mexico, where she uses her wide range of expertise to develop ceramic art and products for customers in the US and abroad. Her work stems from an interest in the naturally occurring pattern and texture of rock and earth combined with the ever-present motifs present in modern design. She also spends her summers as a wildland firefighter for the U.S. Forest Service – a role that helps inform her creative sensibility. Jessica intends her work to serve a purpose but also hopes the pieces can exist alone as art objects. For HAY, she has designed a series of vases.
