Nathalie Du Pasquier

FRANCE (1957)
In the mid 1970s, Nathalie Du Pasquier traveled throughout Gabon and West Africa before landing in Milan, which has been her home since 1979. For the next decade she designed what she calls “decorated surfaces” – textiles, carpets, clothing, plastic laminates, furniture, and other small objects. During that time she met Ettore Sottsass, who asked her and George Sowden to become two of the founding members of the Memphis Group. After the Memphis Group broke up, she launched her solo career in sculpture in painting. In 1987 she made painting her primary medium, creating works that have been exhibited in group and solo shows worldwide.
