Paris-based artist Ronan Bouroullec studied at the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs in Paris before starting a studio with his brother Erwan. In addition to designing furniture and other projects with his brother, Ronan also devotes time to experimental activity, creating colorful drawings and paintings that bring him into a state of self-hypnosis, like a form of mediation. His artwork has been displayed in galleries and exhibitions in Paris, London, and other cities. In 2012, Phaidon Press released a comprehensive monograph called Works to celebrate the careers of Ronan and his brother Erwan. For HAY, Ronan has co-created the Copenhague series, Palissade collection, Can Sofa, Elementaire Chair, and Balcony collection with his brother. Ronan’s drawings are also available for purchase at HAY.
